A user account enables you to contribute to Arena. When you have logged in, you may access the online catalogue, check what you have on loan, renew or reserve items, or see what we have in a range of subject areas. You may also search for local clubs and organizations, or contact service providers to get the help when you need it.

  • Some libraries may set up an Arena account for you automatically, and allow you to use your library membership card number and PIN to login to Arena. In this case, there is no need for you to create a user account.
  • Arena supports several user account types. Each type grants the user access to a range of Arena's features.

If you use Arena without logging in, it will treat you as Guest (see above). The Guest user account is anonymous and therefore requires no login. However, while all Arena controls remain visible to you as Guest, you may only use the navigation, viewing and searching portlets of Arena. You may not write reviews.

Account security advice

  • Keep your login details secure.
  • Do not allow anyone else to use your login details.
  • When you login, ensure that entry of your password is not observed.
  • When you have finished using Arena on a shared computer, be sure to log out.
  • If you believe that your Arena account has been used by someone else, alert library staff, and change your Arena password, as soon as possible.
